IPSWICH, Mass. — A collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck resulted in the death of a 72-year-old man on Route 1A on Sunday at 4:05 p.m.
Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist, from Gloucester, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred near High Street, close to Dow Brook Conservation Avenue.
Preliminary investigations indicate the motorcycle collided with a Dodge pickup truck, whose driver remained at the scene.
The incident is being investigated by the IPSWICH POLICE DEPARTMENT, MASSACHUSETTS STATE POLICE COLLISION ANALYSIS AND RECONSTRUCTION SECTION, STATE POLICE CRIME SCENE SERVICES SECTION, and the OFFICE OF THE CHIEF MEDICAL EXAMINER.
Emergency responders included the IPSWICH FIRE DEPARTMENT, along with mutual aid from the ROWLEY POLICE DEPARTMENT and ROWLEY FIRE DEPARTMENT.
