LINN COUNTY, Ore. — A 29-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash involving a pickup truck on Highway 226 at 9:41 p.m. Friday.
According to Oregon State Police, the incident occurred near milepost 11 when a blue Ford 350 pickup, driven by 77-year-old Arthur Vernon Roberts of Lebanon, turned into the path of an eastbound Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Tanner Kolten Henderson of Gates.
Authorities reported that the motorcycle collided with the pickup’s front end, causing both the motorcycle and rider to land in a ditch. The pickup came to a stop in the roadway, blocking the intersection.
Henderson was pronounced dead at the scene, while Roberts was uninjured and remained cooperative with authorities.
The highway was affected for approximately two hours during the investigation. The crash remains under investigation, and additional details have not been released.
Oregon State Police received assistance from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Fire District, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
