Motorcyclist Killed in Lawrence Crash Thursday Afternoon
A 50-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision at a roundabout in southwest Lawrence on July 9, according to police.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:12 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Pointe Drive and Clinton Parkway. Officers responded after receiving reports from witnesses at the scene.
The motorcyclist was transported to a trauma center in Topeka, where he was pronounced dead. The Lawrence Police Department’s Accident Investigations Unit is currently investigating the crash. Authorities confirmed this marks the second fatal motorcycle incident at this intersection this summer.
In a separate incident, a motorcyclist was killed at the same location on July 9, with speed believed to be a contributing factor, authorities said.
