KAILUA, HI – A deadly motorcycle crash closed Kailua Road in both directions Wednesday evening.
According to Honolulu police, a 22-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 22-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.
The collision occurred around 4:45 p.m. near the entrance to Kailua Town, at the intersection of Hamakua Drive and Kainehe Streets.
Emergency crews and traffic investigators remained on-site until after 6:30 p.m., with the road expected to remain closed for several hours.
Three additional individuals, including a man in his 40s and two women aged 30 and 70, declined medical treatment.
Identification of the deceased is pending.
