Man dies in motorcycle crash in Marion County on Saturday, FHP reports.
MARION COUNTY, Fla. —
A 59-year-old Anthony man died Saturday after a motorcycle crash on County Road 35, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. just north of State Road 326. Authorities said the man was riding north when he left the roadway while negotiating a left-hand curve.
The motorcycle struck a fixed traffic sign, and the rider was thrown from the bike into a ditch. He was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Troopers noted that the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
