Fatal Motorcycle Crash Under Investigation in Montgomery County
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A motorcycle crash involving a car left one man dead on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities responded to reports of the incident at 1:11 p.m. at the intersection of Mouth of Monocacy Road and Dickerson Road. Upon arrival, they found the motorcyclist, later identified as 32-year-old Michael Richard Bower of Hagerstown, in the roadway.
Bower was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Subaru Ascent involved in the crash remained on-site.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Bower was traveling westbound on Dickerson Road when he collided with the vehicle at the intersection. Information regarding the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
No other injuries were reported. Local authorities stated that the investigation may take several weeks to months to complete.
Montgomery County Police are leading the investigation. All lanes were reopened shortly after the incident.
