Motorcyclist dies in crash in Northeast Kingdom.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Vermont State Police responded to a two-motorcycle crash near the P & H Truck Stop on Route 302.

First responders found a 45-year-old operator of a Harley Davidson motorcycle unresponsive; despite CPR efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the second motorcycle, a 37-year-old from Maryland, sustained no injuries but incurred moderate damage to the vehicle.

Initial investigations indicate that the Maryland rider slowed while a truck turned into the parking lot. The Harley Davidson collided with the rear of the second motorcycle, ejecting its operator. Authorities report that neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the crash.

The incident remains under active investigation, and the name of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notification. Witnesses are urged to contact the Vermont State Police St. Johnsbury Barracks at 802-748-3111.
