A serious motorcycle accident on Silas Deane Highway in Rocky Hill left one operator dead on October 5 at approximately 3:50 p.m.
According to the Rocky Hill Police Department, the accident involved a car and a motorcycle, prompting response from local police, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel. Medical personnel pronounced the motorcycle operator deceased at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the Midstate Accident Reconstruction Team arrived for the investigation by 5:30 p.m. The highway was closed for several hours, with advisories for motorists to avoid the area; it reopened by 9 p.m.
The Rocky Hill Fire Department reported crews were managing the situation near Interstate 91’s Exit 24 ramps. Connecticut State Police also dispatched troopers to assist at the scene.
