Motorcyclist Dies in Crash on Southbound I-15 Freeway South of Cajon Pass, Causing Multiple Lane Closures.

CAJON PASS, Calif. — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on southbound Interstate 15 south of Cajon Pass on Friday, August 7, at 12:59 p.m.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision involved a motorcycle and an unknown truck. Initial reports indicated the rider was unresponsive, with debris scattered across the roadway.

A white water truck was seen on the right shoulder near the scene, but it remains unclear if it was involved in the crash. Witnesses reported that another vehicle swerved to avoid the initial collision, leading the motorcycle to veer into a truck, although the exact sequence is still under investigation.

At 1:08 p.m., emergency responders confirmed the rider’s death and requested an extended investigation from CHP, resulting in the closure of three of the four southbound lanes. By 1:13 p.m., only the No. 1 lane remained open.

The CHP San Bernardino Area office issued traffic advisories, warning of delays in the area and urging motorists to use alternate routes, as lanes would be closed for an unknown duration.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Coroner was dispatched to the scene. The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been released, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

This is a developing story, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
