Motorcyclist Killed in Crash Near Rochester, MN
A 52-year-old motorcyclist died in a collision with a pickup truck Thursday morning in Marion Township, southeast of Rochester, MN.
The incident occurred at approximately 10:48 a.m. on Highway 14 at Chester Avenue Southeast, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. The motorcyclist, a St. Charles resident, was traveling westbound when he collided with a pickup truck going east. Authorities confirmed that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The truck driver, a 53-year-old man from Maple Grove, was not injured and was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, authorities said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, which stated that alcohol was not a factor in the incident.
As of Thursday, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety reported 191 traffic-related deaths statewide this year.
