CLIO, Mich. — A motorcyclist died after crashing into a turning vehicle while allegedly fleeing from police on East Vienna Street Sunday evening.
According to the Clio Police Department, an officer on patrol at 6:15 p.m. observed the motorcyclist traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer activated his lights and siren but lost sight of the motorcycle. Moments later, the officer discovered signs of a crash at the intersection of Vienna Road and Dexter Street, near the Clio Area Fire Department.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist collided with the rear of a vehicle making a left turn onto Vienna Road. The Clio police officer immediately administered CPR until emergency responders arrived.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no serious injuries reported for the occupants of the other vehicle.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the incident.
