A motorcyclist died after a crash on eastbound Interstate 580 near Eden Canyon Road in Pleasanton on Thursday at approximately 4:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The rider was ejected from his motorcycle following a collision with another vehicle and was struck by a truck while lying in the left lane. The CHP confirmed that the motorcyclist later succumbed to his injuries; his identity has not yet been released.
The incident led to lane closures on I-580, impacting traffic for nearly three hours. The two left lanes were fully reopened around 7:30 p.m. as emergency crews managed the scene and conducted an investigation. Authorities are continuing to look into the details surrounding this incident.
