Motorcyclist dies in head-on collision with pickup truck in Hancock.

HANCOCK, Maine (WGME) – A head-on collision in Hancock has resulted in the death of a motorcyclist, identified as Jim Hoyt, 44, of Sullivan.

Maine State Police responded to the crash on Route 1 near Washington Junction at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Friday.

According to authorities, Hoyt’s motorcycle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a pickup truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers confirmed that Hoyt was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. No lane closures were reported.
