GOLETA, CA – A motorcycle crash on northbound Highway 101 near Glen Annie Road on Monday, June 29, resulted in one fatality.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 22-year-old man from Goleta lost his life in the incident, which occurred around 4:20 p.m. The man was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving between lanes before colliding with two other vehicles.
The motorcyclist was ejected from his bike and struck a guardrail. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department confirmed the fatality.
Following the crash, the highway was reduced to one lane, prompting authorities to advise motorists to avoid the area while emergency crews worked on site.
