MARENGO, Ohio — A motorcyclist died in a multi-vehicle crash on state Route 229 on Monday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. when a GMC failed to yield while turning left onto Seymour Street. The vehicle was struck by 60-year-old Randy Sheets of Centerburg, who was traveling eastbound on a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide.

Following the initial collision, Sheets’s motorcycle crossed the center line and was subsequently struck by a Ford. Emergency responders pronounced Sheets dead at the scene.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP), Sheets was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The drivers of the other vehicles and a passenger in the Ford were wearing their seat belts and were uninjured.
