Motorcyclist dies in rear-end collision with tractor-trailer in Orange County, FHP reports.
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —
The incident took place around 2 a.m. Saturday on Taft Vineland Road, near Sidney Hayes Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a 27-year-old man from Kissimmee was riding eastbound when he failed to brake in time, colliding with a tractor-trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 33-year-old man from St. Johns, was not injured and remained at the scene, FHP stated.
Troopers indicated that the motorcyclist was likely not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing, with FHP working to gather further details.
