Motorcyclist discovered deceased near I-264 four hours post-crash near Louisville airport.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A motorcyclist was found dead after a crash near I-264 and the Louisville Airport on Thursday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a person down at approximately 10:30 a.m. between I-264 eastbound and the Crittenden Drive exit on December 18, 2025.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered a male motorcyclist, dressed in motorcycle gear, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators from the Louisville Metro Police and Louisville Airport Police found an unoccupied motorcycle in a ditch near Airport Road and Terminal Drive earlier that morning around 6 a.m.

After locating the motorcycle, officers conducted a search for the rider but could not find anyone, leading to the bike being impounded.

Surveillance footage captured the motorcyclist traveling eastbound on I-264 at a high rate of speed shortly after 6:00 a.m. before losing control while attempting the Crittenden Drive exit ramp.

The rider was ejected from the motorcycle, landing in a grassy area, while the motorcycle continued to a stop in the ditch.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
