A motorcyclist died Sunday evening after a collision with a sedan on Apalachee Parkway in eastern Tallahassee.
The incident occurred at 7:38 p.m. near Apalachee Parkway and Conner Boulevard, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The motorcyclist was taken to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, where they were later pronounced dead, authorities said.
FHP has not disclosed details regarding the cause of the crash or whether the sedan driver sustained injuries. Traffic camera footage shows significant damage to the vehicle.
The westbound lanes of Apalachee Parkway at Conner Boulevard were closed as troopers conducted their investigation, with traffic being diverted onto Conner Boulevard. Motorists were advised to exercise caution in the area.
The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing, according to FHP.
In 2026, Leon County has seen nearly 3,500 crashes resulting in more than 2,180 injuries and at least 17 fatalities, as reported by the state’s Crash Dashboard. This includes 53 motorcycle-related incidents, marking the second fatal motorcycle accident this year.
