BUCKEYE, AZ — A motorcyclist was killed early Friday morning in a crash near the historic Gillespie Dam Bridge.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a speeding motorcycle that lost control along Old U.S. 80 near the bridge over the Gila River.
Upon arrival, deputies found the rider deceased on the roadside. The individual has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. No additional details regarding injuries or other vehicles involved have been released.
