ASTORIA, Ore. (KPTV) – A 55-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on Highway 30 near Astoria on August 1, according to Oregon State Police.
The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. near milepost 90. A black Triumph Daytona motorcycle, traveling eastbound, crossed into the westbound lane while attempting to pass in a no-passing zone, colliding head-on with a yellow Ford Transit van.
Samuel Stephen Clutter of Portland was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ford driver sustained minor injuries, OSP reported.
Highway 30 experienced lane closures for approximately five hours as authorities conducted their investigation.
No further details have been released by OSP at this time.
