Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Semi-Truck on State Route 99 in Lynnwood
Lynnwood, WA – A motorcycle rider was fatally injured in a crash involving a semi-truck on State Route 99 early Thursday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The incident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on July 30, near 31st Avenue West. Authorities reported that the semi-truck was traveling southbound when the motorcyclist, a 38-year-old woman from Lynnwood, attempted to merge onto the highway and was struck by the truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 43-year-old male driver of the semi-truck from Everett was subsequently contacted by authorities.
The accident led to lane closures on SR 99 near State Route 525 as the WSP conducted its investigation.
An investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to be released by authorities.
