Motorcyclist Hospitalized Following Serious Crash in Scio Township.

A motorcycle crash on Zeeb Road in Scio Township resulted in serious injuries to a 40-year-old man on August 17.

According to the Scio Township Fire Department, the accident occurred around 10:58 a.m. and involved a motorcycle and a smaller SUV. The motorcyclist, from the Dexter area, sustained life-threatening injuries.

Fire Chief Andrew Houde stated that emergency responders treated the motorcyclist at the scene before transporting him to the University of Michigan Hospital. He remains hospitalized, but he is currently alive, with very serious injuries. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Authorities confirmed that the driver of the SUV remained on-site and is cooperating with the investigation. The roadway was closed between Pratt Road and Stonegate Road following the crash; the road closure was lifted around 3 p.m.

The Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office issued a public alert advising people to avoid the area during the emergency response.
