SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. — A 64-year-old male motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash on U.S. Highway 98 Thursday at 12:32 p.m.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident occurred at Kelton Boulevard. A 71-year-old man from Valders, Wisconsin, driving a pickup truck, entered the intersection from the left turn lane without yielding to the eastbound motorcycle in the No. 2 lane.
Troopers reported that the front of the pickup truck struck the left side of the motorcycle. The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The pickup truck driver and a 75-year-old passenger from Big Bear Lake were unharmed. No additional details have been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
