A motorcyclist suffered critical injuries in a crash on Florida’s Turnpike in Clermont on Tuesday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 a.m. near Hancock Road, affecting the southbound lanes. Emergency responders airlifted the rider to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
Authorities confirmed that the crash involved a single motorcycle, but the cause remains unknown as the investigation is ongoing. Witnesses reported that emergency crews temporarily closed lanes while assisting the rider and clearing the scene, with the roadway reopened around 11:30 a.m.
At this time, investigators have not disclosed the identity of the rider, nor have they confirmed any contributing factors such as speed, roadway conditions, or potential involvement of other vehicles.
