Albuquerque – A motorcycle and vehicle collision occurred at 6:45 p.m. near Central Ave NE and Charleston St NE, leaving one rider injured.
Albuquerque Police Department officers and Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews responded to the crash. Witnesses reported that the motorcycle rider was unresponsive. Police Service Aides and National Guard Units closed the westbound lanes of Central at Charleston to facilitate emergency response.
The motorcycle rider was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital in stable condition. The vehicle driver also sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital by AFR upon request. The condition of the driver remains unknown.
Authorities reopened Central Ave around 9 p.m. The incident remains under investigation.
