59-year-old Detroit man injured

DETROIT – A 59-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a single-vehicle crash on westbound I-96 near Greenfield Road.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. on February 17 and involved only the motorcycle. Witnesses indicated the rider lost control while riding onto the left shoulder.
Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital. Authorities confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Westbound I-96 was closed for approximately one hour as crews cleared the scene. Michigan State Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
“At this time, it hasn’t been determined why the rider drifted onto the shoulder and lost control,” said F/Lt. Mike Shaw.
