Motorcyclist Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Near Tukwila
TUKWILA, WA—A motorcyclist was injured in a five-vehicle collision on southbound I-5 near Southcenter on Friday, July 10, around 4:49 p.m., according to the Washington State Patrol (WSP).
The crash, which happened just south of the Klickitat Way on-ramp, involved three passenger vehicles, one pickup truck, and the motorcycle; the motorcycle was reported as totaled. The injured rider was transported to Harborview Medical Center.
No fatalities were reported. Authorities confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the incident. The collision was attributed to reckless driving after a vehicle entered the freeway by crossing the gore point, striking the motorcycle.
The scene was blocked for 1 hour and 22 minutes due to the investigation and debris clearance. Emergency services included WSP and local responders.
The roadway has since reopened fully.
