Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-and-Run on I-16 in Bulloch County.

BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized following a hit-and-run incident on I-16 West on Sunday, Aug. 9.

The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. near State Route 119 (mile marker 137), according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Authorities reported that an unknown vehicle struck the left side of the three-wheeled motorcycle, causing the rider to be thrown off before fleeing the scene.

The motorcyclist sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

As of 7 p.m., all lanes of I-16 westbound were reported open, according to 511GA.

Traffic was initially impacted as all lanes were closed just before 4:30 p.m., with the left lane reopening by 5:40 p.m.

The expected clearance time for the incident was set for 8 p.m.

The investigation into the hit-and-run is ongoing.
