Motorcyclist Injured in Interstate 29 Crash in Holt County.

A 53-year-old man from Bellevue, Nebraska, was injured Saturday evening in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 29 in Holt County.

The incident occurred at 7:14 p.m. on southbound Interstate 29 at mile marker 79, approximately five miles south of Mound City, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The man was riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson Street Glide when he lost control, leaving the roadway and striking a traffic sign post.

The impact caused the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle, which came to rest on its left side, partially blocking the southbound Exit 79 ramp, authorities said. The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and sustained injuries. He was subsequently transported by the Atchison Holt Ambulance District.

The Harley-Davidson suffered total damage and was towed from the scene by All City. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted in the response by the Holt County Sheriff’s Department and the Atchison Holt Ambulance District.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
