Motorcyclist Injured in Sidney Crash as OSHP Launches Investigation.

SIDNEY, Ohio (WKEF) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating a serious injury crash that occurred Sunday morning in Sidney.

The incident took place on West Michigan Street, just east of I-75, according to the Piqua Post of the OSHP.

A 2026 Hyundai Kona, driven by James Key, 32, of New Concord, Kentucky, was attempting to enter West Michigan Street from the Speedway gas station parking lot when it was struck by a 2025 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle traveling east.

The motorcycle rider, Omar Rivera, 26, of Sidney, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Wilson Health by Sidney EMS before being transferred to Miami Valley Hospital via CareFlight.

Key reported no injuries from the crash.

The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the Sidney Police Department, Sidney Fire and EMS, and Topps Towing.

Authorities confirmed there were lane closures following the incident.
