Motorcyclist Killed, Another Injured in I-270 Crash in Obetz

OBETZ, Ohio — A crash on Interstate 270 Sunday night resulted in the death of one motorcyclist and injuries to another, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred at 11 p.m. near mile marker 49.4, close to Alum Creek Drive. A 2024 Yamaha YZF-R3 and a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400 were traveling west when the rider of the YZF-R3 lost control and fell from the motorcycle.

Authorities confirmed the operator of the Kawasaki Ninja was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:20 p.m. The individual’s identity has not been released. The YZF-R3 rider was transported to Grant Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

A section of I-270 was closed for approximately four hours as emergency responders managed the scene. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, according to authorities.
