Motorcyclist Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on New Hampshire Avenue

Brookville, MD — A 30-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead following a collision involving a car on New Hampshire Avenue Saturday evening.

According to Montgomery County Police, Patrick Adam Smith of Bowie was operating a 2006 Triumph Rocket III motorcycle northbound on New Hampshire Avenue when he lost control and collided with a southbound vehicle. The incident occurred at 6:17 p.m. in the 22000 block, between Sapling Ridge Lane and Georgia Avenue.

Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures, but Smith was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a silver 2013 BMW 128i, was uninjured.

Authorities have closed New Hampshire Avenue between Sapling Ridge Lane and Georgia Avenue as the investigation continues. Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.
