A 47-year-old Oak Hills man was killed in a motorcycle crash on the 15 Freeway in Cajon Pass on Aug. 7.
Oscar Lopez died at the scene of the incident, which occurred just before 1 p.m. in the southbound lanes, south of Oak Hills Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and San Bernardino County coroner’s officials.
First responders found that Lopez’s motorcycle struck the rear of a water truck, the CHP reported.
Lopez sustained fatal injuries in the collision, CHP officials confirmed.
The preliminary investigation indicated that a silver SUV made an unsafe lane change, leading to the collision. The SUV continued southbound after the incident.
Lane closures were in effect during the investigation, with further details pending release.
