ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – A motorcycle accident on Spenard Road resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries Sunday evening.
The crash occurred shortly after 6 p.m. at the intersection of Spenard Road and Wisconsin Street, temporarily closing the intersection.
According to police, the motorcyclist was westbound on Spenard when a Buick made a left turn onto Wisconsin and collided with the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist later died at a hospital. The driver of the Buick sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital, while a passenger in the Buick was unharmed.
Authorities have not disclosed whether any factors such as speeding or alcohol contributed to the crash.
As of Monday afternoon, the investigation into the incident was ongoing, according to the Anchorage Police Department.
