Motorcyclist killed in crash involving two motorcycles and a car in LaPorte County.

WANATAH, Ind. (WNDU) – A motorcyclist died following a crash involving two motorcycles and a car Saturday afternoon in LaPorte County.

The incident occurred at approximately 4 p.m. CT at the intersection of U.S. 421 and School Drive. According to authorities, a 19-year-old man from Portage driving a 2005 Mazda northbound rear-ended a 2021 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The impact ejected rider Ryan Harrison, 42, of Clarks Hill, and his 41-year-old female passenger. The Mazda then struck a second motorcycle—a 2006 Harley-Davidson—directly ahead of them, ejecting that motorcycle’s 42-year-old male driver from Lafayette and his 41-year-old female passenger.

Police reported that Harrison and his passenger were airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, where Harrison succumbed to his injuries the following day. The other motorcycle occupants were taken to Franciscan Health Michigan City for medical treatment.

The crash is under investigation. Authorities stated that toxicology results are pending.
