A motorcyclist lost control and died in a crash on Interstate 65 Monday morning in Tippecanoe County, police said.
At approximately 11 a.m., Indiana State Police responded to the incident near the 164-mile marker. The motorcycle was traveling northbound when the rider veered into the median and struck a cable barrier. Emergency personnel on scene performed lifesaving measures, but the rider was pronounced dead shortly after.
The identity of the deceased rider will be released by the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office pending identification and notification of next of kin. Authorities indicated that the investigation is ongoing.
The Sheffield Fire Department and Tippecanoe County EMS assisted at the scene. No further information regarding lane closures or tow details was available at this time.
