Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Lighthouse Road in Selbyville.

SELBYVILLE, Del. — A motorcycle crash early Wednesday morning on Lighthouse Road resulted in the death of a 56-year-old man.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m. on May 20, involving a Harley-Davidson Road King motorcycle operated by Robert Riden of Frankford. According to Delaware State Police, Riden failed to navigate a slight left curve, veering off the roadway and colliding with a concrete-and-metal safety barrier.

Riden was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Lighthouse Road was closed for about four hours for investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, which is still actively examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
