ELKO, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Frontage Road 54 in Elko around 3 p.m. on Dec. 11.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident involved a white Ford F-350 and a black Honda VT1100C. The Ford was making a left turn into a private driveway from eastbound Frontage Road 54 when the motorcycle, traveling westbound, attempted to pass.
The left front of the motorcycle struck the left front of the truck, causing the motorcycle to come to rest on the right outside shoulder. The Ford came to a stop in the driveway.
The motorcyclist, identified as Martin Vides, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities stated that the investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the Major Incident Reconstruction Team (MIRT). Anyone with information is urged to contact the NHP Elko Office at (775) 753-1111 or email ncemirt@dps.state.nv.us.
