Motorcyclist killed in early morning crash in Baxter, Brainerd Dispatch reports.

BAXTER — A 53-year-old man died Thursday morning following a motorcycle collision with a pickup truck on Highway 371 in Crow Wing County.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the incident at 4:49 a.m. in Unorganized Territory, north of Baxter. A 1989 Harley-Davidson Cruiser, traveling northbound, was turning left onto Pine Beach Road when it collided with a southbound 2016 Ford F-150 in the right lane.

Authorities confirmed the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries, with his identity withheld pending family notification. The driver of the Ford, identified as Todd Daniel Grimsley, 56, of Baxter, reported no injuries.

Weather conditions at the time were clear with dry road conditions. Further details are expected to be made available on Friday, according to the State Patrol.

Emergency responders from the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, Baxter and Brainerd police departments, North Memorial Health Ambulance, and Brainerd Fire Department were on scene to assist.
