A 52-year-old motorcyclist died following a head-on crash with a truck on Louisiana Highway 413 on Sunday afternoon.

According to Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred around 2:41 p.m. as the motorcyclist lost control while navigating a curve. He collided with a southbound truck. The motorcyclist, identified as Martin Laster, sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed despite wearing a DOT-approved helmet.

The driver of the truck, who was wearing a seat belt, was unharmed. Authorities have initiated a routine investigation, including toxicology testing, to determine the cause of the crash.

The highway was partially closed following the accident, affecting traffic flow in both directions. The investigation remains ongoing as officials seek additional details regarding the incident.
