ATLANTA, Ga. (Local News Wire) — A motorcyclist died following a crash involving two tractor-trailers on I-285 South near Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred just before 10:30 a.m., prompting a response from the Georgia State Patrol (GSP). According to investigators, the motorcyclist was lane splitting when he collided with one of the tractor-trailers, resulting in him losing control.
The motorcyclist was ejected and subsequently struck by the second tractor-trailer, which resulted in fatal injuries. His identity has not yet been released.
Emergency personnel secured the scene, and the southbound lanes of I-285 were closed for the investigation and treatment of the victim.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
