A Dixon, Missouri, man died in a motorcycle accident on I-44 early Monday morning, according to authorities.
Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported that a 2009 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic was traveling west near the 230.6-mile marker when it went off the roadway and struck a mile-marker sign at approximately 1:27 a.m.
The 47-year-old driver was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained critical injuries. He was transported to Missouri Baptist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:11 a.m.
MSHP stated that the driver was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. No other vehicles were involved, and the crash remains under investigation.
