Motorcyclist Killed in Michigan City Crash.

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WNDU) – A motorcyclist died following a crash Monday, October 2, at approximately 4:30 p.m. in Michigan City.

The incident occurred at the intersection of E. William Street and Pine Street. Authorities confirmed that 34-year-old Brandon Summerlin was riding south on Pine when another vehicle turned onto Pine from William in front of him.

Investigators reported that Summerlin applied his brakes, causing him to fall off the motorcycle and land on the pavement. He was not struck by the other vehicle.

Summerlin, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was also taken to the hospital for a chemical test, as mandated by Indiana law following serious crashes. The results remain pending.
