Motorcycle Crash in Middlesex Fatal for Local Man

MIDDLESSEX, Vt. – A motorcycle crash claimed the life of 49-year-old Paul Lavalley on August 15 at approximately 7:22 PM on U.S. Route 2, just north of the Middlesex State Police Barracks.

According to the Vermont State Police, Lavalley, a resident of Northfield, was traveling south on Route 2 when his motorcycle, a Harley Davidson, veered off the roadway. Preliminary investigation indicates he was ejected after hitting the embankment of a driveway. The crash was not witnessed.

Emergency responders from the Middlesex State Police Barracks and Middlesex Fire Department arrived on the scene and pronounced Lavalley deceased. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Authorities reported dry and clear road conditions at the time of the crash, and no lane closures were required. The incident remains under investigation, with Trooper Jacob Fox assigned to the case.
