SOUTH TOMS RIVER — A motorcycle crash resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man on Atlantic City Boulevard Monday evening.
Shortly before 5:40 p.m., South Toms River Police responded to reports of an unconscious motorcyclist near Mathis Plaza. Authorities said emergency responders were already administering lifesaving care upon arrival.
The victim was identified as Kenneth Gerisch, who was transported to Community Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators reported that Gerisch was traveling south on Herflicker Boulevard and lost control while merging onto Atlantic City Boulevard. His motorcycle slid into oncoming traffic, colliding with two vehicles.
The Toms River Fire Department, South Toms River First Aid Squad, Robert Wood Johnson Paramedics, and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Investigation Unit assisted at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that Gerisch’s family has been notified. The incident is under investigation by Patrolman Dominick Palino. Witnesses are urged to contact South Toms River Police at 732-349-0313, extension 126, or via email at dpalino@strpd.us.
