PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A motorcyclist died following a collision with a car in Northeast Portland on Tuesday afternoon.
The incident occurred at 3:45 p.m. near Northeast Lombard Street and 15th Avenue, involving one motorcycle and one car.
Emergency services transported the motorcyclist to the hospital, but the ambulance was involved in a separate crash near Lombard Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard en route.
A second ambulance responded to continue transporting the motorcyclist, who later died at the hospital.
The driver of the car from the initial crash was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to authorities. The investigation into both incidents is ongoing. Lane closures were reported in both areas as emergency services responded.
