Motorcyclist killed in Oahu’s North Shore crash marks 60th traffic fatality on the island.

WAIALUA (HawaiiNewsNow) – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Farrington Highway in Waialua on Monday at approximately 5:24 p.m.

According to the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), a 28-year-old male motorcyclist was broadsided while attempting a left turn into Mokuleia Beach Park.

The crash involved a southbound vehicle driven by a 35-year-old male motorist with a 29-year-old male passenger. Police reported the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed during the incident.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the injured motorcyclist to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. HPD confirmed that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Both the motorist and his passenger remained at the scene and sustained no injuries. HPD is investigating the incident, with speed confirmed as a contributing factor; however, it is unclear if drugs or alcohol played a role.

This incident marks the 60th traffic fatality on Oahu in 2025, compared to 29 fatalities recorded during the same period in 2024.
