A motorcyclist from Brooklyn, Michigan, died Friday afternoon after being struck from behind by an SUV on U.S. 127 near Addison.
The 63-year-old man was riding south just north of Addison shortly before 5 p.m. when a 24-year-old woman from Portage driving the SUV collided with him, according to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Steer Street was temporarily closed for emergency response and has since reopened.
The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the crash, and authorities believe alcohol may be a contributing factor.
