Motorcycle Rollover Crash Claims Life of Dickinson Man Near Taylor
TAYLOR — A 55-year-old man from Dickinson died in a motorcycle rollover crash on Old Highway 10 west of Taylor on Tuesday evening, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported to the Stark County Emergency Communications Center at 8:14 p.m. Mountain time. The victim was riding a 1991 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound when he lost control, veering off the roadway to the north.
Authorities said the motorcycle re-entered the roadway before overcorrecting and entering a ditch, eventually rolling over. The rider was ejected and suffered life-threatening injuries. He was transported by ambulance to CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Officials confirmed he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Road and weather conditions were reported to be dry. The North Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the investigation, with assistance from the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, Richardton EMS, and the Taylor Volunteer Fire Department.
The identity of the deceased has not been released pending family notification. The investigation is ongoing.
