FRANKLIN – One man died following a motorcycle crash on Route 207 at approximately 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities said.
Austin Leigh Lippincott, 29, of Uncasville, succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision later Tuesday night, according to Connecticut State Police.
Troopers responded to the intersection of Route 207 and Pautipaug Hill Road after reports of the incident. Lippincott was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle westbound when a Chevrolet work van, traveling eastbound, turned right and crossed into his lane, striking him.
Witnesses reported that Lippincott was thrown from the motorcycle, landing in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. Emergency medical services transported him to Backus Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The crash remains under investigation by the Connecticut State Police. No further information regarding lane closures or additional injuries has been released.
